When released in 2011, the 2012 McLaren 12C price was set at an amount that allowed it to compete with some of the better-known models in the sports car market.  Soon after its release, dealerships were eager to have the McLaren 12C for sale. It was a new and exciting model in the sports car market and fans of the brand flocked to the car.

Now the supercar company is aiming to add more models to their lineup after production of the 12C ended in 2014. But, even with no more new 12Cs being made, it is still one of the hottest and most exciting McLaren cars out there.

McLaren Automotive has one of the most prolific racing histories of any manufacturer, thanks to legendary driver Bruce McLaren. It’s because of this reason that McLaren has successfully transitioned from a company based around racing to a full-blown automobile manufacturer.

The company’s second jab at a production car was the McLaren MP4-12C for sale. Unveiled in September 2009, the supercar is built around a carbon fiber composite chassis that is both lightweight and incredibly sturdy. This chassis is built around the Carbon MonoCell, which is where passengers sit. This provides a safe environment for passengers and lightens the load on the car, which weighs in at 2,868 lbs dry.

Mounted in the rear of the car, which it is often referred to as simply the 12C, is the M838T 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. Producing 592 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque efficiently, this is one of the finest engines available. Combine this engine with the seven-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox, known as the “Seamless Shift Gearbox,” and you have a recipe for a lightning-quick English sports car.
